Claire Birchfield hadn’t exactly planned on becoming an author.
A salon owner, hairstylist, and entrepreneur based in Pensacola, Florida, Claire spent most of her adult life building businesses, raising her son, traveling whenever she could, and assuming she had a pretty good idea of where her life was headed.
She did not.

Years later, Claire and her husband were hanging out on their patio, chatting over wine, when the topic of regrets came up. The only thing Claire thought of was not writing the book. The very next day, Claire sat down and started writing. She had always known she had a story worth telling. She wasn’t interested in turning her past into a lesson or pretending she knew what she was doing at the time. She wanted to tell the truth about what it felt like to live it.
The result was Ticket In Your Inbox, her debut memoir—a deeply personal story about travel, desire, motherhood, relationships, reinvention, and the distance between the life you think you’re supposed to live and the one you discover for yourself.
Claire writes the way she remembers: honestly, conversationally, and from inside the moment.
The attraction before the consequences. The decision before the hindsight. The boarding pass before asking whether getting on the plane was actually a good idea.

Today, Claire is still in Pensacola, still curious about what might be waiting on the other side of a plane ticket, and still convinced that some of life’s best stories are the ones you couldn’t make up if you tried.
She is also still not particularly good at following an itinerary.
